CALCULEX is aware of the increased concern that the exploitation and trade of tin, tantalum, gold, and tungsten (Conflict Minerals) originating in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and surrounding countries are helping to finance armed conflict characterized by extreme levels of violence, and further unfair labor practices and other human rights violations in the DRC. CALCULEX supports the humanitarian goal of ending the violence and human rights violations by striving to prevent Conflict Minerals from entering its supply chain. CALCULEX’s policy prohibits suppliers from sourcing metals either known to be derived from conflict regions or designated as Conflict Minerals. The supply chain for these metals is complex, and CALCULEX is undertaking reasonable due diligence in our supply chain to ensure these metals are not sourced from this conflict region and/or from conflict mines.
